Their visit is over and they're leaving today.
The acme of enjoyment has come into play.
My in-laws were a nuisance and again I must say
Who had the audacity to invite them anyway?

--

Old Mother Hubbard could not tell a lie.
Mother Teresa comforted the poor but refused to cry.
The Virgin Mary was blessed by seeing a star in the sky
and your Mom's unconditional love will never die!

--

Informing his wife to leave on the light
he wore dark shades to bed at night
and still in his suit with all due respect
the Secret Service must serve and protect!

--

For journalists it would become the Holy Grail!
A lost tribe was discovered off the beaten trail
and this otherworldly experience led to a primal wail
if you stood too close and stepped on their tail!

--

Upon the day she was asked to leave
her sisterhood stood firm and had to believe
that redemption of their spirit would offer a reprieve
with the benefaction and girl power of the inimitable Eve!
