This Prison Which Impedes Our Wandering Mind: 5 Poems
14 May, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
After reading this book it was never the same.
We took to the streets for someone to blame
as a conquering force and under one name
with those angry words fanning the flame!
--
In the refuge and madness of this recurring tale
they were doomed to repeat and eventually fail
in this desperate effort to keep on track
by taking one step forward and two steps back!
--
Don't accept what they all say.
Don't accept it's the only way
and don't accept this is the very day
until your inquiring mind comes into play!
--
The reassurance of love can always mend
and when this need arises you will depend
on that calm voice waiting at the other end
who has been paid to be your only friend!
--
When the affinity for exploration is your will
with an insatiable appetite for a thrill
be prepared for an emotional fire drill
if you forget to take the birth control pill!
