Love And Guilt: Five Poems

These spontaneous acts from out of the blue
are the reason why life sees us through
when the colours of the rainbow add another hue.
May human kindness smile upon you!

--

The Periodic Table provided an educated guess
as the chemical elements had to confess
the equation of love is hard to suppress
as humanity always seeks a daily caress!

--

A memory came back the other day
when a scent reminded him of the way
her hair would gently brush across his face
as he was making a turn at third base!

--

Freedom for some is a foreign word
if you look above at that solitary bird
and selected by fate you're here to stay
to serve this sentence everyday!

--

Tainted by what his peers will say
any chance of absolution has faded away
and for any transgressions he'll have to pay.
This pesky asterisk is here to stay!
