You Cannot Cater To A Mind Of Its Own: 5 Poems
19 July, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Man had the luxury of planting the seed
but the shipping and handling he didn't need
so the other gender was chosen to obtain
a lifetime of enduring discomfort and pain!
--
Something else must be up his sleeve.
The cynic in us makes it hard to believe
that the Grim Reaper could actually conceive
permission to pursue a legitimate sick leave!
--
The proverbial bull ran wild and free
and the structural damage was easy to see
when heavy artillery missed the fly on the wall.
In a china shop it was a risky call!
--
Nosterdamus was curious about taking a cosmic trip
so into the future he did bumble and slip.
His predictions once bold became an also-ran
and lowered to the dubious standards of any weatherman!
--
It's been years since I've seen my ex-husband Bill
but his presence has an undeniable will
and my blood runs cold as it rings so shrill
when I hear that paranormal fire drill!
