Musical Vignettes: 5 Poems

The spontaneity of such a moment failed to be discreet.
He squirmed in the confines of his subway seat
and the rush hour crowd would not be denied
of his musical flatulence waiting inside!

---

He plays a jew's harp to bide his time
and the sound it makes tells alot about time
as time is what the Grim Reaper has on his side
and mortality is the slave who always complied!

---

Everyday she walks behind feeling like a fool
as her daughter skips, hops and dances to school
and though their energy levels are never the same
a mother's dedication to this routine is her claim!

---

This surveillance of humanity and their noise
confirmed the lack of any earthly poise
with the relentless pursuit of answering the cellphone
because who really wants to be left alone?

---

He took his time as Bolero played.
Maurice Ravel would have cried and prayed
that a mind so sick may eventually stop
before this embalming of the very last drop!

If you allow me...

I have to tell you that as I read your poem, I could feel the music of your soul vibrating in me.
