The Adventure Of Noah's Raven
8 November, 2014
Author: Joseph Ogbonna
High in the sky was the mid-day Sun,
on a pleasant day presumably in the month of May,
when I in high Spirits raised my agile wings
for a mission to accomplish.
It was an adventure to dare across
A World once cruel-saturated, but now
desolated. For my lord Noah sought to know
how dry the once sinister covered plains were.
In graceful flight, I flew across
a global Ocean once covered by
the residues of Eden, to yonder destinations unknown,
in search of a supposedly abandoned golden fleece.
All around a World with neither form nor void,
I sought tirelessly for spoils,
perhaps beyond my reach in the very depths,
lay this inexhaustible booty in the care of Fish.
------- Author's Notes -------
A fictional poem about the Raven Noah sent out to check if the flood water had abated but did not return, due to its quest for booty, riches and wealth which it presumed would be in excess as a result of the destruction of the Earth. |
