The Sun
13 November, 2014

The Celestial lamp of the terrestrial
by day beams light and showers of warmth,
swells the grain and dries the hay,
scorches with heat rays in hours of toil
to induce in readiness for a new day,
a labourer's sleep.
As the Sunbeam heats up the summer
plains, Eden's residues attract
holidays:
From the pleasant resorts of the
Mediterranean
to the blissful beaches of the
Caribbean;
where beams are ever cherished
for providing suntan to make
models distinguished.
At noon your golden rays are
much too unpleasant to bear
for delicate bodies dear,
yet at even, your beauty is
nature to behold
for the young and old.
