Evil's Power
22 May, 2017
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)

vinebar

I have looked into the face of evil
I have heard the words of hell
I have survived

You may not know it by my smile
You may not see it in my eyes
But it's still there

I still see it in my dreams at night
It haunts my thoughts each day
And I continue

It would be easier to allow the defeat
To hide behind drugs and alcohol
And cry myself to sleep

I will not allow it that power over me
My life is worth more than that
I have more to give

Though the evil still hides in the corners
It will not rule my choices in life
For I choose to live
