Birthday Poem 2021

Awakened to impossibilities
New adventures ahead
This year alone, yet not alone
So much changed and yet, I'm the same

Less tolerant of being wronged
More appreciative of life and health
Still the dreams unfold
Becoming a reality I never thought would be

Content with what is and can be
Moving forward from all the past, both good and bad
Remembering but not dwelling
Forging ahead

Life becomes 'what is'
The un-changable past, 'what was'
It's all part of me and my being
Making me who I am

Never forgetting the realizations
Moving past the drama
Just enjoying who I have become
and all that surrounds

I am Thankful.. Confident.. and strong
I am not perfect,
But the best I can be
I enjoy all that life allows me

With my head in the clouds,
I walk the walk I talk
Noticing more than I should, realizing things people miss,
Because I take the time to see

I know tomorrow won't be expected,
But it will be survived
Life goes on as it should
And I will walk the paths chosen before me
