Golden Anniversary

When I look upon the mountain,
I am daunted by it’s height.
Alone I’d fail to reach the top,
Though I’d try with all my might.

But should I ever lose my grip,
I would tumble to the ground.
With no one there to hear my cries,
How would I ever be found?

It is only with a partner,
That you could scale its face.
A friend that you can count on,
Who could help you reach that place.

Someone who’s there to catch you,
Should your grip fail at all.
To always be your lifeline,
And never let you fall.

Though even with that partner
With whom you have been blessed.
The task may prove to be too great,
And you still may fail the test.

But if your faith in God is strong,
Your climb will never stop.
Until the mountain is conquered,
And the two have reached the top.

Where they will stand triumphant,
Anointed in God’s love.
On their golden anniversary,
He will smile from above.

On that day He will bless them,
For always staying true,
To the covenant they made with Him,
And the faith that got them through.

So celebrate this day with them,
And share their jubilee.
With their children and grandchildren,
On this anniversary.

See what fifty years of climbing,
Has created through this quest.
That their love brought into this world,
May they always be so blessed.

Nice to see someone made it.

It's good to know there's still some relationships that last. A Shame more can't.
