The Red White And Blue
16 February, 2003

Red is for each drop of blood of soldiers who have died.
Fighting for our freedom, our people and our pride.

They fought a revolution, and two bloody world wars.
They went to Vietnam, and died on foreign shores.

So here is to the soldiers, we are in their debt.
And the flag will fly the red, so none of us forget.

White is for the immigrants, every race and every creed.
The farmers and the workers, who planted freedom's seed.

Businesses and industry spread out across this land.
They are the foundation on which this country stands.

So here is to the immigrants, we are in their debt.
And the flag will fly the white, so none of us forget.

Blue is for miss liberty, forever may she stand.
Proudly holding freedom's torch in her noble hand.

She stands for an ideal, our father's legacy.
A symbol of the courage that made this country free.

So here is to miss liberty, we are in her debt.
And the flag will fly the blue, so none of us forget

I really like the way your expressed yourself. I also like the honor of your poem. My dad was in Vietnam, so I guess I was just raised patriotically even though I don't agree with everything the u.s.a stands for. I really liked the way your poem made me feel.

Our greatest loss would be if people forgot history, and nothing was gained from the cost.

She's a Grand Old Flag.

Does the old heart good to see someone show this kind of respect. More people need to understand whar those colors mean. Thank you.
