Street Violence
2 February, 2004

Driving down these streets
At every light my sight sees
people in fights, people having beefs
People pulling guns and knives, playing for keeps
Men cheating on wives, kids leaving their homes
We're all screaming to find a place of our own
The everyday fight is blinding life
for how it should be seen
I'm finding more and more strife could be cleaned
If we just love our own and find our reasons
for being who we want to be
We're all stuck in a zone with total control
Your life is your own, you've got to play your own role
Look at the toll we all pay for the violence
on the streets and in our homes
A young brother, a little niece, both now in silence
and neither can reach for a dream or even speak
All because street violence put them under, 6 feet deep
Why do we be hating and racist
Why do we rate cause of color or the look of our faces
We've all been given this place, and now we're living a maze
A rat race we all play until we sink
I take a look around and think for a while
I'll never let anyone around me go down,
I'll make them smile
Keep them warm when they're cold, stand by them at trial
I'm just one of you, trying to be accepted
I'm just living my life,
Treating you, how I want to be respected
I see the truth, and how love can be rejected
But look above and check it
Where would you be without the people you love
Who would you be if you were a name, never heard of
Be assertive and treat all people
like their part of your pack
Get people back on track to realize and see
That the fact of death means
That, that person aint never coming back
To you, or their family

this kind of writing I understand

Very good shan, your observance is what I like.
Everyday life. Good or bad are things that we see everyday. To show your compassion is what people need more of.
