Words Like Venom
30 April, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)

vinebar

Oh wretched beast
The viperous venom that comes from your words
That threatens me
You did not know I was immune, but I am

Trying as you might to bring me down
You but made yourself look the fool
In the reality you failed to face
Your envy shows green as the grass at your feet

Your venomous words do not hurt me
annoys me, maybe so
I try to ignore you
Though like a plague you won't go away

I draw my sword and swipe off the tongue from your mouth
Forcing you to taste your own words
and face your own demons
may you now look and find what its truly about

------- Author's Notes -------

Some people lash out in anger towards others. When in truth, it is they that hurt. and if you look beyond their hurtful words, you can see the sad person beneath them.
