your words stab at me
until all that i have left to feel
inside of me is dark and empty
and i wish this wasn't real
your cold remarks kill what i have inside
and any chance of me holding back tears
are destroyed by sobs that i muffle and hide
leaving me with a loss of hope and a lot of fears
Your my mother, and I need your support
you say words that you know tear me to pieces
but you don't care, and your temper is short
are you waiting until my beating heart ceases
I just don't understand my existence
and neither do you
but why do you keep attacking me with this persistence
is this something we have to put each other through
------- Author's Notes -------
I am 17, which is a common age to fight with parents. Our fights however, are all about breaking down the other ... and my mother is physically ill which makes it harder for me to argue with her, so usually if a fight starts I don't say much and she takes things too far.

i am so sorry you have to go through this..perhaps your mom's illness is a factor to her out bursts...ya know many times i am told by my childrens friends that our relationship is odd..i always question what is odd...they say you are like room mates, best friends i often ask isn't that what a parent should be first in their childs life???
i hope all gets better for you...
