Nature’s Conquest

The waves broke the rhythm to look at the unseen land,
To look beyond the horizon was their wish,
With the water gaining momentum and the wind's magic wand,
They struck the shores together making a big 'swish'.

With the earth competing to take the major toll,
The ocean jubilant at the new venture and wanted more,
The wind also had the same goal,
And all three joined together to make a bloody gore.

People looked at the white clouds above,
Starring at it, with wide eyed weariness,
The five minutes of terror below,
had snatched away everything,
leaving them to cry, in bitterness.

When the anger and conquest died,
bodies were found strewn around,
The waters went back after being tired,
followed by the earth and wind that stopped,
after they rattled the ground.

Dead and decay cause a huge messy smell,
Rapid action was taken to check the epidemic yell,
Cries for missing loved ones filling the air,
Tears rolling down cheeks, people shouted in despair.

Happy weekend ended with a big mourn,
There was nothing to do but to frown.

------- Author's Notes -------

This poem is not for the sufferrings of the people affected by Tsunami. Their sufferrings cannot be expressed in words. This is just about my imagination of the work played by Nature.
