Tell Me Lies

Tell me untruths, tell me a lie
Tell me something to believe
Tell me I’ll live, I’ll never die
Tell me that you’ll never leave

Show me a real god, show me the truth
Show me in black and in white
Show me in colour, show me the proof
Show me in dark and in light

Give me some evidence, written on paper
Give me where it is typed
Give me something that doesn’t taper
Give me something not hyped

Who was it said ‘life would be sweet?’
Who was it who told you all this?
Did you think it was there at your feet?
Was something you couldn’t miss?

Well I've got news, yours to merrily spread
That bubble that you had since your being
Yes everyone of us are easily led
Into looking but never seeing

So Unborn baby the world is all yours
The picture doesn’t always match
Don’t expect there to be open doors
The key can be found on the hatch

Look at the picture, look at it well
You are on your own from your birth
Forget happy people the lies that they tell
They can’t help, but falsify mirth

Don’t fall in to the web that they weave
Don’t drown in oceans of strife
They say ‘I’ll stay’, while packing to leave
Everyone lies in this life
